Bia Medious spent the early part of her career engaging in political and educational work before transitioning to journalism. Exploring her passion for storytelling, investigative reporting, and audio production, she recently worked as a Production Assistant for USA Today and a Civic Reporting Fellow with City Bureau. By day, you could find Medious: reporting on judicial accountability and alternative courts, editing podcasts, researching campaign finance records or pulling archival tape for "The City". By night, she transforms into Super Mom, and then binge-watches Netflix to sleep.
Focusing on creative nonfiction at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Medious earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Rhetoric. She also is working towards her Master of Science in Journalism, specializing in social justice and investigative reporting at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications.
If you want to talk audio, families, electoral justice, or why the Southside is the best side of Chicago, say “Hey!"
